Dundee Homes For Sale
Known as Omaha’s first suburb, Dundee was first developed in 1880 and contains many of the most historic homes in the metropolitan area. Noted for the preponderance of maple trees and the beautiful Colonial, Tudor, and Georgian homes, Dundee is the home of Warren Buffett, well-known investment expert and philanthropist. Buffett still lives in the Dundee home he purchased in 1958 for a little more than $30,000. Dundee was annexed by Omaha in 1915 and today boasts lovely tree-lined streets and well-maintained city parks as well as outstanding schools. Read more about Dundee.

More About Dundee
Dundee, Nebraska is often called Omaha’s first suburb. Certainly it holds the distinction of having one of the first restrictive covenants in the Omaha area; Dundee Place advertised lots for sale with the provisions that only residences costing $2,500 or more could be built in the neighborhood, that homes must be set at least 25 feet back from the street, and that no alcoholic beverages could be sold in the area. The restrictions proved to be less of an attraction than the developers had hoped; nonetheless, they persisted in building in the area, recasting Dundee in the role of a village rather than a residential development. Over time Dundee expanded until its eastern border adjoined Omaha, and in 1915 it was annexed by Omaha.
Dundee is bordered by two of Omaha’s largest public parks and is within walking distance of the trendy Old Market area, making it a popular choice among the young and hip in Omaha. Dundee has been listed as one of the “Best Old House” neighborhoods in the Midwest by This Old House magazine, mainly due to its gorgeous historic homes. Dundee South is noted for Tudors and Colonial Revival homes, while Craftsmans and four-squares are popular throughout the neighborhood. Homes in this area start at around $150,000.
