Millard Homes For Sale
Millard, Nebraska began its life as a station on the Union Pacific line, and was first laid out into plats by Ezra Millard of Omaha in approximately 1871. A small village soon sprung up in the area, its growth spurred by the railroad and the fertile agricultural land that surrounded it. The first school was founded in 1868, and the town’s major employers included the Millard Mills, Millard Elevators, and Johnson’s Brickyard; a hotel, saloon and dry goods store were among the first businesses inside the town. Millard was annexed by Omaha in 1971, and today is one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the metropolitan area.

More About Millard
From humble beginnings as a small Union Pacific railway station,
Millard has grown dramatically over the years to become one of the most
desirable neighborhoods in the metropolitan Omaha area. First
envisioned in 1871 by a local entrepreneur named Ezra Millard who
purchased 320 acres of land and divided it into plats for homes, the
village quickly became a center for industry and population growth in
the area. Millard soon boasted a mill, elevator, brickyard, and a
number of saloons, blacksmith shops, wagon shops, saloons, and hotels,
along with several general stores to serve the growing population.
Millard grew steadily, and the expanding territory occupied by Omaha
soon extended to the outskirts of Millard. This necessitated the
annexation of Millard in 1971, and today it is one of Omaha’s most
sought-after neighborhoods, featuring some of the grandest homes in the
entire metropolitan area. Millard is a mix of historic homes and new
developments, including upscale retail shopping centers and Village
Pointe, a newly-opened pedestrian mall in the area. Traditional one-
and two-story homes predominate in the area, with hardwood floors,
fireplaces and formal dining rooms commonplace in the neighborhood.
Home prices vary widely, but start at around $100,000 and range up to
half a million dollars for luxury homes in Millard.
