June 21 through 23 is the date for a festival of fabulous finds, fantastic food, the funky, the fun and the fabulous! Known as Junkstock, this celebration of repurposed and artisan items and more is a weekend of “Peace, Love and Junk” held at the old West Omaha Dairy farm at 315 South 192nd Street in Omaha. Like the original Woodstock, Junkstock is held on the grounds of an old dairy farm and like Woodstock, it is highly entertaining. However, along with great entertainment, Junkstock also offers treasures for your home. The former diary farm fields there will be filled with items from shabby chic to architectural treasures as well as great food vendors, live music, a kids zone and more.

Junkstock is a juried event, which means that every vendor has to be accepted based on the quality of the items they sell. This results in excellent dealers who will offer a wide range of attractive and creative items for sale in an assortment of boutique-like booths. There will be antiques and primitives, re-purposed jewelry, vintage clothing, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, rustic and retro and just anything unique and cool.

There will also be great food from Localmotive, a food truck that offers a selection of foods made from predominantly local sources, all hand made and from scratch. Lindsey Enterprises will be there with hot dogs, tacos and more, Smokin Pizza will be selling their wood fired specialty pies and Mockingbird Cupcakes will offer tasty desserts.

Musicians at Junkstock will include excellent entertainment from groups like the Prairie Gators, Platte River Rain, Midwest Dilemma, Sans Banjo as well as a number of other fine performers. All of this great music will be hosted by entertainer Ray Michael.

Junkstock also has something great the kids. Although they may not enjoy the shopping, they are not forgotten. There will be a Kids Zone at Junkstock that will include magic shows, bounce activities, face painting and other great kid’s activities.

Admission to Junkstock is $5 for adults per day, and $12 for all three days. Kids under twelve are admitted for free. If your children are the four-legged kind, you can bring them along, too; Junkstock is a pet-friendly event.

Junkstock will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 21, 22 and 23. Hours are 9 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.
