Guide to DR Horton (2026)
If you are from the midwest, you may not be familiar with name D.R. Horton.
In 2025, D.R. Horton built and closed over 85,00 homes across the United States, maintaining its position as the LARGEST homebuilder in the country. Much of that is coming from Arizona, Texas, and Florida.
In late 2021, it was announced that D.R. Horton was expanding to Omaha. Last year, they built 453 homes in Omaha (Douglas County and Sarpy County).
In March 2026, D.R. Horton announced it was acquiring Celebrity Homes’ finished lots, further expanding its presence in the Omaha area.
Don’t tour a model home without reading this, it could save you thousands of dollars.

DR Horton offers a one-year home warranty.
It does cover some electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues for 2 years.
And it covers major structural defects for 10 years.
