The last census records show a population of about 26,300 in the city of Fremont. The community's history dates back to as early as the 1830s, when a significant amount of traffic travelled through the area along the Mormon Trail. Once the actual town of Fremont was established in 1956, it began to grow quickly. Today, numerous historical sites are located around the area, including original brick portions that formed the Old Lincoln Highway, which is located just outside of Fremont.
