By 1870, Waterloo had been designated as a Union Pacific Railroad station; however, it was not until 1883 that the town of Waterloo was actually incorporated. For many years, the area was known as one of the largest producers of seed and vine corn.
According to the last census, Waterloo had a population of just under 900. Although Waterloo may be small, residents are able to enjoy a wealth of amenities due to the fact that the community is considered as part of the Omaha metropolitan area.
