In 2021, The Home Company built 115 homes in Douglas and Sarpy County. That makes them the 5th largest builder in the Omaha area (by number of homes built).

In 2012, The Home Company was founded by two local Omaha homebuilders with a combined 40 years of experience. Their goal was to bring semi-custom homes to the Omaha market that were built with the cost efficiencies and discipline of a production home builder. The Home Company has expanded to building an average of 80 homes a year and now hits a wide price point of $275k to $500 homes.

In January of 2019, The Home Company was purchased by Hubbell Realty Company located in Des Moines, Iowa. While this has increased the capacity of the number of homes and standard features The Home Company can offer, they continue to maintain the integrity of the company offering individual attention for their clients and quality product built in a timely manner.

Customizations / Selection Process

The Home Company Building Process

  • Meeting our team – When you choose to build with The Home Company, you get to meet the team who will make your home happen. From dedicated agents to superintendents and vendors, we look forward to meeting face-to-face multiple times throughout the build.
  • New Home Selections – We’ll walk you through all the choices from floor plans, standard and optional features, Design Studio selections to exterior finishes and various color options. After you pick your lot and floor plan, you’ll begin working with our interior designer Kim Bothwell. From cabinets to countertops, we give homeowners hundreds of choices from high-quality partners and vendors throughout the Omaha area. In the studio, homeowners can check out the latest styles, trends and color packages customized by the team. The Design Studio Process:
    1. Select home floor plan and community
    2. Schedule meeting with Designer, realtor & homeowner
    3. Two-hour visit at a Design Studio to pick design selections
    4. Take pictures of selections
    5. Start order and installation!
  • Construction Starts – We kick off every home construction with a pre-construction conference! You’ll spend time with your sales associate reviewing and approving documents so the walls can start being built. Our vendors are some of the most professional and dedicated companies and partners in the Omaha area, many of which have worked with us since we were established.
  • Schedules and Builder Updates – We know your life is busy and that’s why The Home Company does our best to keep you right on schedule. We’re always sure to keep you in the loop with one-on-one meetings or through our various online check points.
  • Homeowner Orientations – Your homeowner orientation is an introduction to the home you’ve created and its many unique features. We will walk you through your home, demonstrate various maintenance duties, and confirm the selections installed are the ones you ordered and love. Following our quality walk, we’ll do a deep clean of your home ensuring when we hand you the keys, you are move-in ready!
  • It’s All Yours – Setting up you and your home for success is important to us. After you move in, if any issues or maintenance questions come up, we are here to answer. From warranty-related items to basic assistance, we want you to understand each and every piece of your home.
